Bali gambling and casino
Although the poker and gambling business is booming throughout Asia, it is banned in Indonesia. There is no casino in Bali. The reason for this is, that the majority of the population here preaches Islam, and this culture strongly rejects gambling and drinking.
Previously there were state lotteries, but due to protests and resistance they were also banned. Locals are still betting on cockfighting, dominoes and board games, but any form of gambling is illegal.
IN 2012 year, three Indonesian ministries announced, what will take action against online betting. This was mainly in response to the huge amount of Indonesian rupees, which were played at the Euro 2012 football championship.
